Homeschool Consultations
Who
Homeschooling parents, relatives, caregivers
What
Customized assistance with setting up a homelearning environment, creating schedules, selecting curricula, organization and balance at home in alignment with your homeschooling emphasis (Waldorf-inspired, state standards, charter school, unschooling, ecclectic).
How
Email, phone, or in-person if in the greater Sacramento, CA area. We also travel upon request.
When
Initial questionnaire is emailed to you upon receiving your contract. We then set up a schedule of times to communicate/meet that work with your schedule. Hours purchased may occur any time within one year.
Cost: $60 per hour
$165 for 3 hrs.
$500 for 10 hrs.
Teaching Consultations
Who
Teachers who work with groups of children or adults who want to become a teacher (public/private/Waldorf/charter schools, co-ops, workshops, lessons, day care, tutoring).
What
Assistance with setting up classrooms, curricula, proposals, goal-setting. Document editing. Mentoring, guidance, evaluation and support. Specific areas of subject area specialization upon request, such as handwork, anatomy, art, economics.
How

When

Cost: $165 for 3 hrs. (to start, plus $60/hr. for additional hrs. purchased in one hr. increments)

On-site: $400/day (max. 6 hrs.) plus travel, food, lodging
Co-op & Organizational Consultations
Who
Groups who work with children in a homeschooling and/or Waldorf-inspired environment.
What
Setting goals, creating mission statement, writing proposals, editing newsletters. Promotional work: Facebook, Twitter, blog, website set-up or assistance. Organizing annual calendar. Specific areas of subject area specialization upon request, such as handwork, science, celebrations. Communication, leadership, evaluation, budgeting mentoring.
How
Email, phone, or in-person if in the greater Sacramento, CA area. We also travel upon request. An initial workshop day in-person followed by online consultation hours per week is recommended.
When

Cost: $165 for 3 hrs. (to start, plus $60/hr. for additional hrs. purchased by one hr. increments)

Jennifer Tan, MA Masters in Education - Administration, CA Teaching and Administration Credentials, BA - Classical Civilization
Jennifer has 14 years of experience as a public school teacher, GATE facilitator, principal and organizational leader. She has homeschooled her own children both privately and through a charter school in a Waldorf-inspired environment. Jennifer teaches music and fiber arts, performs on flute, and leads workshops for parents in the areas of Waldorf curriculum, homeschooling and handwork.
Rick Tan, MD Medical Doctorate, Waldorf Teaching Certificate, BA - Biological Sciences
Rick is currently a teacher at Davis Waldorf school. He has homeschooled his own children and has taught K-12 and GATE in public schools, and grades 2-8 at East Bay Waldorf School. Rick teaches art, performs on harp, and leads workshops and teleseminars for parents in the areas of Waldorf curriculum, homeschooling and art.
